ABOUT US
Starview Farms is a small family-owned, family-operated farm that produces high quality, pasture-raised beef. We started raising beef after we, Nancy and Eric, were married in 1983 and purchased our small farm from Uncle Willie Fitzgerald. In the Fall of 1985 we began selling freezer beef by the 1/4's and 1/2's. We expanded our operation when our son Clinton was in middle school. He received a small cattle loan through the USDA, FSA Youth Loan Program, and purchased 5 cows and a bull for his FFA Supervised Agriculture Experience. This project continued through his high school years and into college, ending when Mom and Dad bought his cattle from him. For a while we raised all of our own calves, but now buy steers from our neighbors to finish and process. All of our cattle are born in Augusta County and are raised and finished on pasture. Beginning in the Spring of 2016, we expanded and began processing our beef at T&E Meats with USDA inspection. In late 2017, we partnered with our neighbors in order to provide lamb cuts and eggs on a limited basis. Aside from ordering directly from us, our beef is available at the Fairfax Community Farmers Market in Fairfax and for delivery. We also partner with our good friend, Steve Baker, to offer local farm raised pork products. Steve is the person responsible for helping us get started at the Fairfax Market. Check out his website at bakerspork.com to see all his products. In addition we have Non-GMO free range chicken available from our friend Alex Moore at Anthello Acres. Just give us a call or text at 540-480-5936 or email [email protected] if you have questions or want to place an order. Better yet, stop by the Fairfax Market to meet us!
At Starview Farms, our animals are pasture-raised and never confined.
This means higher quality, healthier food for you.
Did you know that pasture-raised animals are not only healthier themselves, but also
healthier for you? Pasture-raised meat is higher in nutritional value than meat that is grain fed and confined. By allowing animals to pasture, they get better exercise, more sunlight, and eat a much more diverse diet. Take a look at the informational fact sheet below from FACT (Food Animal Concerns Trust) to find out more about the benefits of pasture-raised animals.
